OUCH!!

Josh and James went to scouts the other night. Josh is the 11 yr. old scout master and they were passing things off and the boys got a bit wild and James ended up hitting his head, Josh pretty much told him "your fine, now sit down and pay attention" After a few minutes James told him his head still hurts and felt it and then he saw the blood. Josh saw the blood and told the boys its time to wrap it up and go home. They were home early and as soon as James saw me he started to cry and said he hit his head. Josh told me to have a look and see what I thought. I looked at it and was shocked, it was split wide open....gross! I told him he had better call Travis, he needed this stitched up. Thank heavens for Travis!! We brought him over to his house and he got James all stapled up. Poor kid, he is not the bravest, it was quite a dramatic scene. I guess I can't complain, he is this old and without any broken bones, no major catastrophes and this the first time to be sewed up, not too bad for a boy.

Bed Head

Sariah has some serious Bed Head! I don't know what is up with her hair, but every morning it is WILD!! My brother Bobby had a patch of blond hair on the back of his head that was always matted up as a kid, Sariah reminds me of that but her whole head is that way. Some mornings I am tempted to shave it off and start over! We go through bottles and bottles of detangler!

Christmas Tree Hunt

We went up to Big Lake last Saturday to get a tree. It was so much fun! We went with my brother Jesse, Sheen and Bella, and with the Bloomfields. It was snowing really hard and it was so beautiful. It was the first snow of the winter. The kids had fun playing in the snow, all but Sariah! She hated it! She couldn't wait to get in it, then she couldn't get out of it fast enough! It was a good time and we all got a pretty tree. ( ok....so they look a little Charlie Brownish, but it's all about the experience right?) I love Christmas time, we have the whole house decorated and the outside with all the lights up. We went all out this year. I love it! We really needed some holiday cheer this year. Happy Holidays!!

HE WON!!!!

He did it!! James won his first match! St. Johns went to Cottonwood last Saturday for a wrestling tournament. This was his first tournament, and he won his first match! We were so excited for him. The way his team was cheering for him you would have thought that we had just taken State! Way to go James!

Halloween has come and gone like a blink of an eye! We usually go all out for it, but this year was a little crazy! James had wrestling that day, so we didn't get home until 15 minutes till the trunk or treat started. We just threw on the kids costumes and took off. No make-up or nothing! And I only got ONE picture! Oh well :) The kids had a great time; Sariah our sugar freak, LOVED it! She had sampled each one of her 'nandies' before we got home.

If Tomorrow Never Comes

I love this poem! It was from a talk in conference this past weekend. I have been thinking about it the last few days and I saw that my friend Jennifer had it on her blog...thank you Jen, I wanted to hear it again.

"If Tomorrow Never Comes"

If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.

There will always be another day
to say our "I love you's",
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget,

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight..

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear,
Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me,"
"thank you" or "it's okay".
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today

My Little James

It's been awhile since I've posted so I guess I better write an update. James came home from school last week with a trombone! He joined the school band! He had the trombone for a few days then decided he wanted to play the french horn, so he traded. He wanted to switch to something else, but I told him he had to stick with either the french horn or the trombone. Now he has signed up for wrestling! This boy keeps me hoppin! I know NOTHING about wrestling! He told me he needs shoes, head gear, knee pads, mouth gard and a physical. WHAT??!! So I'm taking him to the Doctor tomorrow for his physical. He is not happy about that. He told me "I heard what they do to you" so he is kinda freakin out! I am soooo not ready for all of this! He should still be wearing Sponge Bob underware and playing with his dinosours. What happened? And how do I make it stop? He likes GIRLS! I'm not ready, I'm not ready, I'm not READY!!!

Well Josh turned 31 today! Happy Birthday!! My sister made a sticker for him, it is so cute! It fits him to a tee. It says "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys" He is such a kid in so many ways...with all the toys!! Anyways....If anyone needs stickers for their house or they are also great for gifts; look up her webpage. It's sayitsticky.com I put a link to it on my "blogging friends" section under Melissa's stickers.....check it out!

A new start!!

I am so excited! Last weekend we started to rebuild! We had to completely take down the rooms that flooded upstairs and start over. That's where the water came in from. My brother Jesse came and saved the day! He is a framer, so he knew just what to do and what we needed. It was great, we got a lot done in one day.

Many Thanks!

Well it has been a few weeks since we flooded, and even though things don't look like progress is being made it is. The studs are still drying out, the bathroom is gutted, and all the furniture is out. So now we just have to wait for it to totally dry out before we can re-build. Mold freaks me out, so we are being very careful about re-building, we don't want to take any chances of growing mold. Anyway, I wanted to say a huge THANKS to everyone for all the help with---pumping out water, digging trenches, washing clothes, dinners, cleaning, loaning us pumps, moving furniture, and all the kind words and support. The list goes on and on, and the people are uncountable! We have had help from so many friends, family and even strangers. Even though it was a very hard time for us, it was beautiful to see the out pour of people who wanted to help. We are so blessed to live in such a great place! So thank you all for everything!

A little too much rain!

We were at a family reunion a couple weeks ago and came home to a flooded basement! We had a little under a foot of standing water in our basement. Needless to say, everything was ruined. There is a family room, two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, and a food storage room down there. We couldn't believe it, it was quite shocking to see your house look like that. We were hit by some major monsoon storms that week, we flooded 3 times during that time. We have had to rip out all the carpet and dry wall up two feet, throw away a bunch of stuff and bleach everything so we don't grow mold. It's been fun:) And to top it all off, insurance wont pay for a thing! Gotta love it!

I did it! I am a blogger! My friend Nicole told me I need to blog. Well I had no idea what she was talking about! I am not computer savy. So she and her sister Tiffany helped me out. I don't know if I will be able to do anymore than this, but it will be fun figuring this all out.

Hawaii Trip

We took a trip to Hawaii this past week. We had a wonderful time! Josh's brother and wife live on Ohau, in Kaneohe. It is by far the most beautiful place I have ever seen. While we were there we went to the Polenesian Cultrual Center (sorry, can't spell that one:)) , several different beaches, the swap meet, a submarine tour, dinner cruise, macadamia nut farm, north shore, dole plantation, temple and some other stuff. We had a blast! The highlight was the new baby!! Josh's brother Kip and his wife Missy have been wanting to adopt a baby. They started the process about a month ago, and were expecting it to take about a year before they got a new baby to bring into their family. Three weeks later, the night we flew in they received the wonderful call that there was a baby for them, and they could have her the next morning!! What a great suprise! They were so excited to say in the least! What a blessing for us that we were able to see her while we were there! It was so much fun! She is Hawaiian,5 lbs and they named her Maylani Laealoha. She is so cute! All in all we had a dream vacation and we are ready to go back! So you have to put it on your must see places to visit!
